AFIN 2023 AWARD NOMINEES & FINALISTS

WHAT IS A FINALIST VS WHAT IS A NOMINEE?

🌟 FINALISTS > NOMINEES > AWARD WINNERS, and IMDB

As we are IMDB-Qualifying, any project which reaches either NOMINEE or AWARD WINNER, can have their result listed.

FINALISTS and HONORABLE MENTIONS can NOT have their results listed, as they were not nominated for an award, and they did not win. It is a final result which will receive a certificate for the achievement, and is certainly worth celebrating, but is not IMDB qualifying.

Honorable Mention = Although the project has not placed with us this year, it has received special mention from our judges for its merits and quality(Not IMDB Qualifying - Final result for a project in that category)

Finalist = Close to being nominated, no higher result possible for that project in that category (Not IMDB Qualifying - Final result for a project in that category)

Nominee = Nominated for an award, and may win. If they do not win, they stay as a nominee (IMDB Qualifying)

Award Winner = Won the award and is changed from a Nominee (IMDB Qualifying)

Please note, we do audit our results listings on IMDB for accuracy, and if we notice incorrect entries, will request removal/correction for any incorrect entries.

We will advise of this IMDB project location and submission status to Award Winner and Nominee submitters soon after events have wrapped, along with any applicable laurels/certificates, and prizes.

If you are adding this listing to IMDB, please note to ensure you are adding the correct award and year, and choose only one of the following two options:
AWARD WINNER - Choose the Rank of "Winner (1)"
NOMINEE - Choose the Rank of "Nominated (nom)"

We only have award winners, nominees, and finalist placings in our festival, no semi-finalists, quarter-finalists, honorable mentions, or official selections.

mentions, or official selections.
